It is absolutely normal to hide IP address like concealing any other personal information from the third parties.

• You close your door so that nobody can come into your residence and explore the things you have in your rooms.
• You hide your phone number when calling somebody.
• You hide secret numbers of your credit card which are very important and no one should see them.

The same thing happens with your IP address which is accessible to the public. And if you want none to see it then you should hide it.
